Like many others, I was initially drawn to Our Place Cookware‘s sleek design and captivating color options.

When I first purchased my Always Pan back in 2021, I used it regularly. However, after two years of using the original Large ‘Blue Salt’ Always Pan, I wasn’t entirely convinced it lived up to the hype.

But then, in 2023, I decided to give the newer and improved 2.0 versions a try…

This experience completely changed my mind about Our Place cookware. The 2.0 versions are so much better than the original that I’ve actually tossed my old Always Pan from 2021.

The Large Always Pan

The Large Always Pan is a versatile kitchen tool that can handle a variety of cooking tasks, from sautéing and frying to steaming and boiling.

It even comes with a steamer basket which is perfect for steaming!

The pan is made with a durable, non-stick ceramic coating that’s easy to clean and ensures a seamless cooking experience.

The newer Always Pan 2.0 features an updated non-toxic coating and a higher cook point, making it even more versatile.

Whether you’re whipping up quick weeknight meals or preparing elaborate weekend breakfasts and dinners, the Always Pan is a sure bet to become your go-to kitchen companion.

Mini Home Cook Duo set

The Mini Home Cook Duo is a thoughtfully designed pot and pan set that combines style and functionality.

The wooden spoon and spatula nestle neatly onto the handles, creating a space-saving and visually appealing addition to your kitchen.

Oven Pan

The Oven Pan is a recent addition to the Our Place lineup, and it quickly became an indispensable part of my kitchen.

Its versatile size and non-stick surface make it perfect for roasting vegetables, baking casseroles, and even serving meals straight from the oven to the table.

You can even use it as a griddle on the stovetop and it’s great for one-sheet meals or meal prepping.

The Oven Pan is truly a jack-of-all-trades, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, multipurpose baking pan.

Initial Impressions and Features

Upon delivery, I was surprised by the packaging. The pans came with their own wooden spatula and care guides and were amazingly well packed in their own cardboard boxes. The colors and feel of the cookware were impressive, and they are moderately lightweight.

The built-in strainer on the lids is an innovative feature and the convenience of draining pasta without needing a separate colander was a game-changer.

The nonstick ceramic coating is a standout feature, designed without pesky, potentially harmful materials like PFAS, PTFEs, PFOAs, lead, and cadmium. This move not only keeps my cooking safe but also simplifies my kitchen by replacing the need for multiple cookware pieces with their multifunctional design. I’m so glad this was updated in the newer pan models.

Non-Stick Performance

The acclaimed non-stick feature lives up to its hype initially, making both cooking and cleaning a breeze. However, after consistent daily use, a decline in performance is noticeable (older original Always Pan from 2021 and earlier).

The newer 2.0 versions, with improved durability and heat resistance, address this concern and I haven’t had an issue with non-stick performance, yet!

I’ve been cooking and baking with my pans consistently for the past couple of months, and I’m pleasantly impressed with how well the newer non-stick feature holds up! Frying an egg in the Always Pan 2.0 slides right out without any sticking.

Staining is Inevitable

Cooking can be messy, and many Always Pan owners have reported online that oil splatters and pan drippings can stain the pan’s colorful exterior.

I also noticed this after daily usage of my original Always Pan.

While the interior of the pot resisted staining remarkably well, the pan’s bottom didn’t fare as impressively.

Staining due to direct heat was a letdown, affecting its appearance.

The base of my initial Always Pan from 2021 showed discoloration in brown and yellow tones after years of use, and I struggled to locate a product that effectively removed these stains. It’s challenging when you aim to preserve the pan in its optimal condition and original color.

My tip is to make sure to clean your pans as soon as you can once you’re done cooking or plating to help mitigate any staining that can occur!

Caring for Your Cookware

It’s crucial to recognize that to uphold the quality and durability of these pans, it’s advised to stick to low to medium heat while cooking. This method not only guarantees a seamless cooking experience but also safeguards the non-stick coating from potential high-temperature damage.

Admittedly, it’s been a bit of a challenge for me, especially since certain dishes I love demand high heat. Consequently, I’ve had to consciously adjust and opt for a more gentle, slow-cooking approach.

I highly recommend cleaning these pans by hand using a soft sponge and avoiding any abrasive scrubbers. However, bear in mind that while the newer 2.0 models boast oven safety up to 450°F, I haven’t quite mustered the courage to venture there just yet.

Things to avoid…

…High smoke point oils, dishwashing, scouring pads, harsh cleaning agents, and using metal utensils. These will damage and scratch the non-stick coating.

Initially, I was guilty of this, considering most of our cooking tools were crafted from metal. Embrace the wooden spatulas included or switch to rubber or plastic utensils to protect the coating from undue scraping.

Warranty

An important aspect to consider when investing in quality cookware is the warranty that comes with it. Our Place stands behind their products, offering a 1-year warranty with their cookware sets. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and ensures that you can confidently experience the versatility and durability of their products without undue concerns.

If your product was purchased from their website within the last 100 days, it is eligible for a return or exchange, should you need one! Their cast iron products also have a lifetime warranty! However, it’s always essential to familiarize yourself with the specific terms and conditions outlined in the warranty to make the most of this benefit.

By the time I noticed the non-stick coating on the original Always Pan starting to degrade, the 1-year timeframe had already passed. I do wish this warranty went up to 2 years though!

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• The side handle and knob can get hot

• Higher cost compared to some non-stick pans available

• Potential for discoloration of the cookware bottom over time

• Regular oil priming is required for wooden spatula maintenance

Should I purchase Our Place cookware?

…Is it worth the hype?

I wholeheartedly recommend Our Place cookware and products to anyone passionate about cooking or hosting. Functionality, elegance, and convenience exceed expectations, making these products an absolute must-have for those seeking high-quality, versatile kitchen tools that also serve as tasteful decor pieces. I think they’re worth the hype.

After cooking with the Always Pan 2.0 regularly over the last couple of months — I can confidently say that it is way better than the original. It’s the same size, has the same sleek look, and is now marketed with 10-in-1 functionality thanks to the fact that it is now oven-safe. I’ve even started to add to my cookware collection with Our Place since!!
